Let’s together create more beauty in the world!
No matter how passionate and dedicated to ikebana we are, at some point in our creative journey we all might need a push, an extra motivation or inspiration in order to advance. We might feel we need:
-
Friends who can motivate, support, or create with us
-
New techniques and skills
-
Understanding of nuances of cultural or historical context in which ikebana emerged
-
Feedback on our arrangements when we need it
-
Interaction with like-minded people or experts who could inspire us and help us grow
We built the Ikebana Club to help all of us develop together
Admittedly, it was somewhat a selfish project too.
Hi, I am Ekaterina Seehaus, founder of the Ikebana Club. I am a Sogetsu ikebana teacher (Somu degree) based in Belgium. I have students in more than 30 countries around the world. I also run the floral art studio IkebanaPRO.
This club was created in 2022 with the aim of providing a productive and diverse environment where we would all get to:

Frequently asked questions
What is the time commitment expected from a club member?
It is completely up to you how much or how little you get involved. The club system is flexible.
Some members choose to attend most of the live sessions, which is typically 2-3 per month, and they also turn in their works for feedback every month. Others just watch recordings at their own pace without actively participating in any of the discussions. We welcome all styles of engagement.

What if I miss a live session?
Don’t worry; we add recordings of all live sessions to the club library so that members who miss them can watch videos later at their own pace.
In addition to that you get a weekly Club Digest via email where the links to all the recordings of the last week's events are provided to you.

I am from a different time zone. Can I join?
Absolutely, you can. We have members from over 10 countries. We make use of virtual tools that allow us to take part in events as they happen or watch the recordings in our own time.
Having members from many countries means that we can see the plant materials available in different climate regions, explore cultural and stylistic differences and of course make friends all over the world.
